Jakarta, November 2, 2022 - ION Mobility, a smart electric motorcycle company which designs and makes products that deliver seamless user experiences for sustainable mobility, is debuting its inaugural EV smart motorcycle, the M1-S, at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show 2022, from 2 to 6 November at the Jakarta Convention Centre.

Indonesia is a key market for us and we have been preparing to finally present this bike to our customers in Indonesia.” said James Chan, founder and CEO of ION Mobility. “We have created the M1-S to be at the forefront of the growing demand for electric motorcycles. In the M1-S, we will be bringing a desirable and innovative electric motorcycle to our customers in Indonesia, with deliveries expected by 2023.”
Elevated Riding Experience
Designed to be futuristic yet functional, balancing strength and sleekness, the M1-S has a distinct, bold design that makes it stand out on Indonesia’s urban streets. The M1-S boasts a 5kW electric motor that peaks at 12.5kW to give riders a snappy acceleration of 3.7s from 0 to 50km/h, and top speed of 105km/h. Customers of the M1-S will initially be able to select from two onboard weather-proof battery pack configurations (48Ah or 60Ah), giving them between 120km to 150km in range for multi-day commutes between charges.
“The M1-S is purpose-built for Indonesia. We have been talking to Indonesian consumers since 2020, and have designed the M1-S to elevate their riding experience, by providing zippy acceleration, substantial range, all in a desirable yet practical form factor.” said Xianyi Wu, ION Mobility Chief Product and Design officer.
Designed for the daily commute, the step-through design of the M1-S also sees it with 26 litres of under-seat storage, and a built-in charging cable which allows users to charge at any wall socket or SPLU charger, giving users the flexibility to charge either at home or on the go.
The M1-S comes equipped with an ultra-bright 7” LCD display powered by an advanced multi-core processor and sensor package, has an in-built keyless security system and can intelligently pair with users’ smartphones via the ION mobile app.
“Hello Indonesia” Campaign
To commemorate the special occasion and to welcome, reach out and engage with their Indonesian fans, customers and influencers, ION Mobility also announces a three-part multi-month promotional campaign1 via Instagram2 and TikTok3 to give away prizes valued at over Rp 3 billion, including free M1-S electric motorcycles, cash prizes, travel packages, M1-S purchase discounts, online media exposure and free electricity to charge their M1-S.
ION Apex Club
Alongside the M1-S and its “Hello Indonesia” campaign, the company is also debuting the APEX Club program for its customers. The ION APEX Club is the company’s flagship customer loyalty program with exclusive perks and benefits for its customers. The program is not just the embodiment of ION’s brand promise, product and aftersales commitment to its customers, but also a platform through which it can reach out to users who may still be hesitant about transitioning from gasoline-powered motorcycles to electric motorcycles.
